I find it interesting, that I never once had to don a Santa suit while living in the United States, but since I’ve been here in Japan, every single year, without fail, something comes up where I always end up in a Santa suit. Initially I would dress up to be Santa for special AEON Christmas lessons right around the holidays. Truth be told, I enjoyed it every single time I did it. However, this Christmas I wasn’t actually working for AEON anymore, so I figured I wouldn’t end up doing my Santa Claus thing this year, but nothing could have been further from the truth. Actually, this year, the Santa think started back in October, when I landed a gig for a print ad with Kameido Sun Street Mall to build buzz for a Christmas event in December. I got my first look at the advertisement on Christmas Year’s Eve:
The idea behind the ad is that I was the president of Sun Street, and I become Santa Claus to make all of the citizens of Sun Street happy. I thought it was a cute little story to go along with the ad.
So this year, I had a chance to do even more Santa stuff. I really enjoyed passing out calendars and presents to everyone at the mall (especially the kids). People seemed so happy to even get simple gifts. You might say well they’re just little calendars, but I like to think I was passing out a little bit of Christmas cheer. A was waiting for a little boy to come up to me and ask for a Red Ryder BB gun, but it didn’t happen. Nevertheless, this was just pick me up that I needed.
Merry Christmas everybody!!
It's Christmas, and with Christmas comes Christmas music, even here in Japan. Seeing how it's celebrated in Japan almost makes...
